Combining the best the Valley has to offer with a 3 course winery lunch served with a glass of wine this fascinating tour pulls together the history/heritage of settlement and beginnings of the wine industry in SA.

From the Archives;

Clare is situated 90.1 miles north of Adelaide, and in the early days the journey from the city had to be made by bullock dray. Cobb& Co's and afterwards Hill and Co's coaches carried the mail and passengers.

Early in its history, Clare was named as The Garden of the North and well deserves the title. The early settlers, within a few years after their arrival, proved the value of the land by establishing orchards and vineyards, which in later years have been very considerably added to. In the outlying country, farms were established, prolific in their returns. The pastoral properties of Bungaree, Hill River, and Hughes Park, situated within a few miles of the town, soon became known for their splendid breed of sheep.
